S.A. Mayor Visits JA Finance Park

JA was pleased
to welcome the new Mayor of San Antonio, Julián Castro, to Capital
One/Junior Achievement Finance Park™, the mobile version of JA
Finance Park™ on May 28. He was happy to meet the students and spoke
highly of the program's focus and importance. This year, we
anticipate the Mobile Finance Park unit hosting 750 students as they
practice being an adult for the day and managing a budget.
Here are
some comments from JA Finance Park students:
"...I
need to get a really good job because now I understand what my mom
goes through with two kids as a single parent."
"I have
more respect for my parents because they have to pay all these
payments..."
"I
learned that it is important to balance your checkbook because
sometimes you can go over your budget."
