JA Students Do It
Their
Own Way
The summer job market is tougher than ever for teens, so
why not create a business of your own? Students that have
participated in a JA program have increased their knowledge of
entrepreneurship and financial literacy and are taking matters into
their own hands. JA USA President Jack Kosakowski was recently
interviewed by CNN, which you can see here.

Registration is now open for the 2009 Harbor Half
Marathon and Relay. See the ships, enjoy the sights, run a footrace
across the Harbor Bridge. Get a bird's eye view of the Corpus Christi
skyline, Whataburger Field, Nueces Bay, U.S.S. Lexington, Texas State
Aquarium and Port of Corpus Christi. Run city streets, Corpus Beach
and coastal wetlands.

Having a
safe place to learn and play while on summer break is something
every child should have. JA is excited to be offering program
materials to 95 summer program sites reaching
approximately 6,500 students. Students from K-12th grade will be
exposed to hands-on activities that keep them engaged in learning
through the summer months.
Funding for
this program was provided by the Dan and Gloria Oppenheimer Fund of
the San Antonio Area Foundation. For more than 40 years, the San Antonio
Area Foundation, a publicly supported philanthropic institution,
has been administering donors' funds and granting gifts from those
funds to worthy charitable causes that significantly enhance the
quality of life in the communities they serve.

We would
also like to thank the New York Life Foundation for their continued
support of out-of-school programs for students across south Texas.
